![]() Herbert M. Hesse, 90 November 6, 1920 - September 4, 2011 Herbert Hesse, age 90, died Sunday at home surrounded by his family. Herb was born in Cold Spring, MN to Charles and Theresa (Hansen) Hesse. He married Lorraine Bolfing on April 7, 1951 in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. He worked 32 years at Cold Spring Granite Co. before he built Town's Edge Mobile Home Park and City View Golf. Herb was a master Do It Yourselfer! He was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Catholic Order of Foresters, Knights of Columbus, Cold Spring Men's Bowling Association, the Cold Spring Maennerchor, and the Cold Spring Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lorraine; children, Gene (Pat), Herbert D. (Brenda), Peg, Susan (Richard Brooks), Gordon (Norma), Dan (Carla); 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Laverne Erpelding, and Fran Zelenak. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Ferdinand Drontle, Marcellus Drontle, Alvina Bosi, Frank, Mary Peter, Virgil, Virginia Mulvaney, Carl, Adolph, and Delphine Peters. |
![]() John J. Fuchs, 84 November 23, 1926 - September 7, 2011 John Fuchs, age 84, died Wednesday at the Assumption Home. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. The Cold Spring Maennerchor will sing at 7:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary with Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic United Financial and Knights of Columbus. Visitation will continue from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in the narthex of St. Boniface Catholic Church. John was born in Cold Spring, MN to Alphonse and Lidwina (Thelen) Fuchs. He married Joan Stock on June 23, 1949 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph. He worked for the Cold Spring Granite Co. for 4 years until his father passed away. Following his father's death, John moved to the century farm until he retired. He enjoyed singing, playing cards, fishing at Ruby Lake, hunting, bowling and making people laugh. He was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Cold Spring Coop and the Cold Spring Maennerchor for 66 years. Survivors include his wife, Joan of 62 years; children, David (Linda) of St. Cloud, Diane (Gene) Dold of Sartell, Dale (Maggie) of Milwaukee, Duane of Cold Spring, Douglas (Becky) of Cold Spring; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and sister, Sophia Chang of California. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; grandchildren, Scott and Katlyn Dold; brothers and sisters, Valerian "Larry" Fuchs, Cassilda Fuchs, Dorothy Walker, Bernice Sis, Marie Fuchs and Roger Fuchs. |
